But I don't really have a choice right now, because this is something I do want to do. I do know the risks, low pay, and other bad reputation that these armored truck companies have.
#BRINKS SECURITY GUARD FREE#
If there's anything else you guys can tell me about Brinks, feel free to comment. I also don't know when Gardaworld will repost their armed guard ad, and them getting back to me could also take awhile, should I apply. He worked part time as an armed guard while doing my program. But I do recall some people getting in without 6 months of courier experience, such as this one dude who was in the same program that I was in. That's the only qualification I'm missing. My main concern about Brinks is that I overheard they need at least 6 months of courier experience, which doesn't seem to make any sense because companies like Canada Post, FedEx, UPS, etc probably pay way more. I do plan on reapplying for Garda as soon as they repost the armed guard position. I've also considered applying for Gardaworld as an armed guard as well, but their post was taken town while I was applying for that position. I'm 25 years old, and I do believe that Brinks are looking for people that age. I've worked multiple jobs in the past, but my warehouse/retail job and data entry office job are the ones I've worked for the longest. I also recently got a class 4 learner's licence if that helps in anyway.
#BRINKS SECURITY GUARD UPGRADE#
I have the majority of the qualifications already such as a firearms licence, BST licence (Yes, I know armored truck services have additional training and that I'll need to surrender my BST to upgrade to an armored truck guard licence), and class 5 licence. (Yes, it's a minimum wage office job.) It's been a week that I applied and I haven't heard from Brinks yet, but I know that these things can take some time. I also got laid off from current data entry job due to COVID-19, but I do want to pursue something bigger anyway as I've worked in the office for two years already. I thought I'd apply for an armored car company to pay off my student loans and get experience before I apply for something bigger in the future. I recently graduated from the Justice Institute of British Columbia in the law enforcement studies diploma program. I haven't seen any recent posts on on the armored truck industry, so I'd thought I'd make another post on one.
